The project is to digitize and centralize the processing of all diagnostic imaging referrals for 18 hospitals in 4 zones within the Horizon Health Network. The objective is to streamline the intake process by implementing various methods including efax services, intelligent data capture, data lookup and validation with EHR system to ensure data accuracy, keeps protected health information safe and to minimize manual processing. The system facilitates the workflow of eight different medical modalities, while maintaining comprehensive audit trails for data analytics and reporting. The session will discuss the project from its inception stages to the current project status. Is the result living up to expectation? What are the challenges and hurdles with the digital transformation project from the perspective of the Health System, the Healthcare Providers, the Patients, and the vendor.
